Dave Hackett - Closeup

DAVE HACKETT

General Manager

Dave is a trade qualified Fitter and Turner and also has a Diploma of Management. He has more than 40 years’ experience in the sugar and coal industries. Dave has an outstanding background in the delivery of maintenance and project services in these industries.

He has held senior management positions with organisations such as ANI and REB Engineering. Dave has the full range of skills required to effectively manage and deliver project and maintenance services to client requirements.

Dave is responsible for the management and commercial viability of the company, including strategic planning and budgeting, major projects, new market opportunities and, business development.

ANDREW BURGUN

Operations Manager

Andrew has 22 yrs in the industry mainly in fabrication, onsite repair and maintenance and construction/installation fields. He is a trade qualified Boilermaker with a Diploma of Business Management.

Andrew is responsible for the smooth running of all of our site projects. He began with us in 2006.

TREVOR WELLBY

Workshop Manager

Trevor has 24 yrs of fabrication experience. He is a Boilermaker by trade and has a Diploma of Business Management. Trevor’s fields include light to heavy fabrication, modification and repairs. Trevor has been with the company since it first began operation

CAMERON JOHNSON

Projects Delivery Manager

Cameron is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years’ experience in engineering, mining, construction and fabrication. Cameron has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with first-class honours, a Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Law whilst also undertaking a Bachelor of Laws. Cameron began working with DGH as an undergraduate in 2011 and has progressed through the business in many roles before becoming our Projects Delivery Manager. Cameron is responsible for site operations, project team performance and planning for site works.

MICHAEL PARSLOE

Northern Area Manager

Michael started with DGH in 2016.
He has a Certificate 4 in project management and is also a WTIA international Wleding Inspector.
He brings over 19 years of experience in fabrication, construction and onsite maintenance to the DGH team.

KYM CAMILLERI

Administration Manager

Kym has 16 yrs of business management experience within accountancy and administration positions. She has a bachelor in Business (Accounting), Certificate in Rehabilitation Case Management and a Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety. Kym manages an efficient administration team which looks after all facets of payroll, accounting and administration support within the company.

PAULA SMYTH

HR Manager

Paula is a Mackay local and has worked within the region for over 30 years across a number of industries. Since 2015, Paula has progressed from Senior Recruitment Coordinator to HR Manager and has built strong relationships within the DGH community. She manages the HR team to inspire a culture which aligns with DGH core values of People, Safety, Quality, and Community, while creating a balanced and welcoming working environment.
John

JOHN RYLAND

HSE Manager

John is a qualified Workplace Health & Safety practitioner & Rehabilitation Return to Work Coordinator. John is very passionate about safety and possesses 25 years of hands on experience performing in a range Supervisory, Training and Safety roles.

John spent a major part of his professional career working in the forest industry as a Nationally Accredited Trainer / Assessor and has trained and assessed well over 3 thousand people throughout Australia and New Zealand. John is very personable and is proactive in driving safety initiatives that add value to the business.

John is responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety and compliance to relevant legislation and DGH's ISO accredited HSEQ Management Systems.

JOSHUA WALLWORK

Southern Area Manager

Joshua is a Qualified Boilermaker, with over 10 years’ experience in the Hardrock, Coal, Sugar, Ports and Defence industries throughout Northern and Central Queensland. During this time, Joshua has been in many roles including supervising and Project Managing. One of his great traits is his ability to work closely with his workforce, to get the job done safely, to a very high quality and on time. He has a great reputation for his interaction with Client’s with his “make it happen” attitude. Josh is very knowledgeable in all facets of workshop fabrication and onsite projects. Josh has worked for DGH for 3 years and is a permanent resident of Emerald. He is heavily involved with many community organisations in the region in which he lives. Josh is looking forward to opening up new opportunities to DGH’s Emerald based facility.
